As the World Turns
Hear me, four quarters of the world – a relative I am! Give me the strength to walk the soft earth, a relative to all that is! Give me the eyes to see and the strength to understand, that I may be like you. With your power only can I face the winds.

Tom 4 Prez is concerned with community. A community can be defined as common, public and shared. Most people would agree that’s at least on the right track, right?
In terms of community, Tom 4 Prez thinks we should be able to talk openly about what’s going on in our world. By world Tom means right outside our doorsteps. If we share a common, public space then we ought to be able to work together to get things done in our communities.
The people who have affected Tom 4 Prez the most in the past month are the people who know that the issues right outside their doorsteps are where we start to make a difference. Whether that is being freindly to neighbors or joining the activists on your block. Hell, you don’t even have to join, just stop and give them a few seconds of your time. Maybe you agree with them, maybe you don’t. The important factor is stopping and listening, like Tom 4 Prez does!
When we start to invest time and energy in our communities we start to feel the Magic Passion Love that is all around. We start to care. That is what community is about- people feeling like they belong. Developing a sense of common, shared social networks. Tom 4 Prez is not alone, you are not alone. Active, interested and involved because its our neighborhood, our city, our country and our world. Tom 4 Prez knows we can make a difference. Peace.
Yes, I am my brother’s keeper. I am under a moral obligation to him that is inspired, not by any maudlin sentimentality but by the higher duty I owe myself. What would you think me if I were capable of seating myself at a table and gorging myself with food and saw about me the children of my fellow beings starving to death.
